Baptism – a symbol of new life in Jesus. That was Bec Stanton’s thought as she arrived at the riverside beach. It wasn’t her Baptism, as she had been baptised over a decade before. A large number of people from her Church were already there.
120 Beginnings of 2019 - Robert and Kira
Dec. 27th, 2019 06:12 pm“…Satisfying, but not entirely,” Kira said as she and Robert exited the cinema.
“Not entirely satisfying?” Robert asked. He noticed a small smile on Kira’s lips, the sort he’d come to recognise as her ‘I’m kidding’ smile. It was obvious they weren’t going to agree on the quality of the movie.
“Like, it employs the same tired old tropes in entirely predictable ways,” Kira complained, ruffling her pixie length hair with her free hand.
“Not entirely satisfying?” Robert asked. He noticed a small smile on Kira’s lips, the sort he’d come to recognise as her ‘I’m kidding’ smile. It was obvious they weren’t going to agree on the quality of the movie.
“Like, it employs the same tired old tropes in entirely predictable ways,” Kira complained, ruffling her pixie length hair with her free hand.
5. Beginning?
“Commander's log. Stardate 67835.3. The Baffin is approaching the Tanarexa system, where we shall follow up on earlier surveys.”
The Commander looked from the viewscreen and turned the chair so he could see one of the science stations. “Full scan of the planet as we approach,” he ordered.
“Aye, Commander.”
Ten minutes later, the Baffin dropped out of warp, and entered a standard orbit around an M-Class planet.
“Commander's log. Stardate 67835.3. The Baffin is approaching the Tanarexa system, where we shall follow up on earlier surveys.”
The Commander looked from the viewscreen and turned the chair so he could see one of the science stations. “Full scan of the planet as we approach,” he ordered.
“Aye, Commander.”

The Herald Angels Sing, wasn’t sure he wanted to talk to Corrina. And then there was what had been transpiring between him and Becca… He still wasn’t sure about it. He prayed about it again as he entered the hall. Neither of the ladies on his mind were there yet.

(The referendum results are split according to first language, with English speakers mostly for, and Spanish speakers mostly against.) However, the antagonism between the Anglophone and Hispanophone populations in the south of the United States would continue to grow. This would lead to the independence of Cuba and the Free States of Rio Grande.
It is noted that the conspiracy theories of an 'Anglophone agenda' that had been spreading through Spanish-Language radio talk shows and newspaper comment sections intensify through this year. (Eventually contributing to the above secessions.)

She came to. Her head still hurt from where she had been knocked out. She opened her eyes and saw that her vision was still blurred. She could see that there were two people in the room with her, but not much more detail than that. She could also tell that she was tied to a chair. ‘Great!’ She had got out of other situations like it before, but it was still not a place she wanted to be. Especially, given she couldn’t say anything with her hands tied behind her. She blinked again, and her eyes focused.
She could see what they were saying.
She’s awake, one said.
However, the other was turned to the side, so she couldn’t quite make out what he was saying. The other who had said she was awake approached her. His tread was heavy. You’re not getting away, he said.
She tried to move her head to say ‘Let me go!’ But became overwhelmed with dizziness before she could get halfway.
The first guy then said, Let what? While his body shook with laughter.
She lowered her head in a sigh.

Galladan awoke with a start, and fell out of the bed. There was frantic knocking at the door. He rushed over and opened it. The young maid nearly fell into the room. What’s going on?
One of the other visitors has been kidnapped! The maid said, so quickly that his eyes could barely keep up with the signs.
Kidnapped? Who?

She looked around nervously at the many people in the room. Did she think that she had nothing to say? That if she did say something that people would consider her an ignoramus?
‘Of course she isn’t,’ he thought, with a shake of his head. It was more that she was anxious due to not knowing most of the people in the room.

It had been a long time since any Dúnedain had been to this valley. Halladin stopped. Anything could be there. Something seemed off. “What’s wrong?” his Second, Hurin, asked.
“Feels like something that shouldn’t be there is there,” Halladin answered.
Hurin nodded. “We need to find out what it is.”
